Winner of the Junior Book Award 2025 is revealed...

We had a wonderful time celebrating all the shortlisted books at our awards ceremony at Kings High School on Friday 27th June 2025.

Pupils from across the county took part and their winner was Bird Boy by Catherine Bruton. 26 schools took part in the award this year with 14 attending the ceremony. Pupils got the opportunity to ask questions, meet the authors and have their books signed at the end of the ceremony.
Here are just a few of the lovely comments we had from schools:
'Many thanks for organising the Warwickshire Junior Book Awards.  I know that the children were extremely engaged by the event and loved being involved with it.  The smile on their faces as they showed off their signed books was such a lovely sight.  Thank you for all your effort and time - it was a great event for my book group.'
'Can I just let you know how much we all enjoyed the Junior Book Awards Ceremony this morning. The children were so excited to not only meet one, but four, of the shortlisted authors. I am sure many of the children will either be inspired to become authors or read even more books! Thank you for all your hard work in organising this event. We are looking forward to next year.'
Thank you to all the schools that took part, the amazing authors, Warwick Books and Kings High for hosting us. Photo from left to right: Jasbinder Bilan, Catherine Bruton, Vashti Hardy, Ashley Thorpe.
