Try our SEND Resource Collections

Warwickshire Schools Library Services have enhanced their resources for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities in mainstream and specialist schools. Last year, we secured a grant from Libraries Connected and the Arts Council that enabled us to offer free taster boxes to all specialist schools and specialist resource provisions in Warwickshire. Each SEND Resource Collection is hand-picked based on the requirements of each school. It can include a range of books and artefacts to help foster a love of stories and reading. This might include; dyslexia friendly books, symbolised books, story sacks, Bag Books, Yoto players, story telling magnetic boards and lots more!

The evaluation of the project showed that there were high satisfaction levels associated with the SEND Resource Collections. They had a strong positive impact on reading engagement and enjoyment. Staff benefited from reduced workload with high-quality resources enhancing practice. Get in touch if you would like to find out more, all schools can access these collections.
